Friday, November 6th, Brandon left for Chattanooga, TN around 3pm for the Head of the Chattahoochie regatta (aka Head of the Hooch) with the Rollins Crew team. I went to the Magic vs. Pistons game that night with Amber and some other girls while Diana stayed home with Avalyn. Poor thing had a tummy ache that night and it was horrible to leave her! But, I knew she was in good hands!
We continue to watch our little girl grow like a weed! The last time we weighed her (it's been awhile) she was 12.8lbs, according to the Wii Fit. She's got to be over 13 lbs. now.. and I'm sure she'll be 14 lbs. by her next doctor visit on December 7th. They say it's typical to double your birth weight by 4 months, so we're shooting for 14 lbs., 6 oz!
Milestones: She's rolling from belly to back still, but more spontaneously now. So, instead of us 'setting her up' in a good tummy position, she'll be on her tummy for awhile, lift her head up, and then roll over! So, that's been fun to watch! It appears that she's beginning to be more interested in toys too. Not quite batting at them yet, but more attention to them, especially those with lights and noise (hint: good xmas gifts if you're shopping early!). There's also a fake ficus tree in our 'office' area that she is completely ga-ga over! Every time we go to burp, she looks at the tree (at least, that's what we THINK she's looking at!) and she just lights up, big smile, and laughs to herself! It's so funny to watch! She's ticklish, under her neck if you kiss her - she cracks up - and on her belly/sides. She laughs more when you kiss her neck than if you tickle her belly - she's not quite sure what to think about that ticklish feeling.. She can stand up from a sitting position with minimal assistance from your hands. So, if you hold her by the wrists, you can 'pull' her up to a sitting position, and then right to a standing position - she's so strong!
She continues to be on a 3 hour feeding schedule, and her night sleeping just gets better and better! We're weaning her off the 10pm feed, which is now around 9:45, and she's in bed again by 10. So she sleeps from 10 pm - 7am no problem, plus the time from after dinner till that last feed (about 7:30-9:45).. so it's very nice to be getting really good sleep at night!
Tomorrow night the girls from the School Psych program are coming over to the house for our monthly get together. It's so nice to have made such wonderful friends in grad school - we try to continue seeing each other, especially now that 2 of us have babies! Saturday, Brandon has his novice regatta, which means this is the LAST WEEK of crew practice for the fall! Yipee!! I'll be at my dad's wine tasting event, where he'll be showcasing a bunch of his canvas paintings, including a new one he's working on of Avalyn! Can't wait to see it! Hopefully I'll see some of you guys there! Otherwise, we continue to do well and count our blessing each and every day! Thanks for reading!
